Description
Organic Apple & Cinnamon Green Tea Inspired by Rouen
Bring a little French warmth to your tea ritual with Tatasse Organic Apple & Cinnamon Green Tea – Rouen, the Gros-Horloge.
Inspired by the atmosphere of Rouen’s historic streets, this distinctive organic loose leaf tea combines two classic Chinese green teas – Sencha and Chun Mee – with generous pieces of apple and aromatic cinnamon.
The result is an approachable green tea with a beautifully balanced flavour. Fresh vegetal notes from the tea form the base, followed by naturally fruity apple and the comforting warmth of cinnamon.
It is an excellent choice for anyone who enjoys flavoured green tea but prefers a blend that remains smooth, balanced and easy to drink.
What Does It Taste Like?
The infusion begins with a gentle green tea character before developing into a noticeably fruity apple flavour.
Cinnamon follows with a warm, aromatic character that complements the apple without overwhelming the tea.
Expect:
- fresh and delicate green tea notes
- naturally fruity apple character
- warm cinnamon spice
- smooth vegetal undertones
- softly comforting finish
The combination makes this tea particularly enjoyable during autumn and winter, although its balanced character works beautifully throughout the year.
Sencha & Chun Mee Green Tea Base
Rather than using a single green tea, this blend combines Sencha and Chun Mee.
Sencha contributes a fresh, vegetal character, while Chun Mee adds additional depth and structure. Together they create a balanced base that works particularly well with fruit and warming spices.
Apple then adds natural sweetness and body, while cinnamon provides the distinctive aromatic finish.
Organic Ingredients
This tea contains a simple combination of tea, fruit and spice.
Ingredients:
Apple pieces (52.2%), cinnamon (20.2%), Sencha green tea* (China), Chun Mee green tea* (China).
*Ingredients from certified organic farming.
The unusually high proportion of apple pieces creates a generous fruit character that distinguishes this blend from many conventional flavoured green teas.
How to Brew Apple & Cinnamon Green Tea
Green tea tastes best when brewed with water that is below boiling temperature.
Recommended preparation
Tea: 2.5 g
Water: 200 ml
Water temperature: 70–80°C
Steeping time: 2–3 minutes
Avoid using freshly boiling water directly on the leaves, as excessively hot water can make delicate green tea taste more bitter.
For a larger 500 ml teapot, use approximately 6–6.5 g of tea.
For a softer cup
Use water closer to 70°C and steep for around 2 minutes.
For a fuller flavour
Use water closer to 80°C and allow the tea to infuse for approximately 3 minutes.
Experiment slightly with the amount of tea and brewing time until you find your preferred balance between the green tea, apple and cinnamon.
When to Enjoy It
This is an especially versatile flavoured green tea.
Enjoy it:
- with breakfast
- during a mid-morning tea break
- as an afternoon alternative to coffee
- with biscuits or pastries
- after a meal
- during cooler autumn evenings
- as a warming winter tea
- whenever you want a comforting fruit-and-spice tea
Its apple-and-cinnamon character also makes it an attractive tea to serve to guests.
A Beautiful Tea for Autumn and Winter
Apple and cinnamon are classic cold-weather flavours, making this blend particularly appealing from late summer through Christmas and winter.
Unlike heavier winter tea blends, however, its green tea base keeps the infusion relatively fresh and elegant.
It therefore works equally well as an everyday flavoured green tea throughout the year.
