Description
Organic Green Tea with Apple & Cinnamon
Fresh green tea, naturally sweet apple and warming cinnamon come together in Tatasse Opération Overlord, an organic loose-leaf tea blend designed for an aromatic and comforting cup.
The foundation of the blend combines Sencha and Chun Mee green teas, two traditional Chinese-style green teas known for their fresh, slightly vegetal character. Generous pieces of apple bring natural fruity sweetness, while cinnamon adds a warm, gently spicy finish.
Rather than overpowering the green tea, the apple and cinnamon complement its freshness, creating a rounded and approachable blend that works particularly well as a morning or daytime tea.
A Fresh, Fruity and Gently Spiced Cup
When brewed correctly, Opération Overlord produces a clean and balanced infusion.
Expect:
- fresh and vegetal green tea notes
- naturally sweet apple character
- warming cinnamon aroma
- lightly spicy finish
- smooth and rounded mouthfeel
- balanced sweetness without being overly fruity
It is an excellent choice for anyone who enjoys flavoured green tea but still wants the character of the tea leaves to remain noticeable.
Sencha & Chun Mee Green Tea Base
The blend uses two complementary styles of green tea.
Sencha green tea brings freshness, brightness and a smooth vegetal character.
Chun Mee green tea adds more structure and a slightly deeper, distinctive green-tea profile.
Together they provide a more complex base than a simple single-tea blend, while apple and cinnamon soften and round out the flavour.
Generous Apple & Cinnamon
Apple is the dominant ingredient in the blend, accounting for 52.2% of the recipe, while cinnamon makes up 20.2%.
This generous proportion of real apple pieces gives the infusion its naturally fruity character instead of relying solely on flavouring.
Cinnamon provides warmth and spice, making this tea particularly appealing during autumn and winter, although its refreshing green-tea base makes it suitable for drinking throughout the year.
How to Brew
For the best flavour:
Tea: 2.5 g
Water: 200 ml
Temperature: 70–80°C
Steeping time: 2–3 minutes
Avoid using freshly boiling water directly on the leaves. Green tea generally develops a smoother, more balanced flavour when brewed at a lower temperature.
For a lighter cup, steep for around 2 minutes. For more pronounced apple, cinnamon and tea character, allow it to infuse closer to 3 minutes.
Brewing Tip
If your kettle does not offer temperature control, boil the water and allow it to cool briefly before pouring it over the tea.
The blend can be enjoyed on its own without milk or sweetener. If you prefer a sweeter cup, a small amount of honey pairs particularly well with the apple and cinnamon notes.
