Description
Organic Darjeeling First Flush Tea from Mabura
Discover one of the most refined styles of black tea with Mabura Organic Darjeeling First Flush Tea. Grown in the celebrated Darjeeling region of northern India, this loose-leaf tea is produced from leaves gathered during the first spring harvest of the year.
Known as First Flush, this early harvest is appreciated for its fresh, elegant and delicate character. The tea produces a lighter and more aromatic cup than many traditional black teas, making it a wonderful choice for tea drinkers who enjoy complexity without excessive strength.
Why Darjeeling Is Known as the Champagne of Teas
Darjeeling tea grows on the southern slopes of the Himalayas, where elevation, changing temperatures, mist and mountain conditions contribute to its distinctive flavour. Its limited growing region and layered aroma have earned Darjeeling its reputation as the “champagne of teas”.
Mabura selects organic Darjeeling tea leaves from the spring harvest to create a sophisticated everyday tea that can be enjoyed in the morning, with a light lunch or as part of an afternoon tea ritual.
A Light and Elegant Black Tea
Unlike heavier breakfast teas, First Flush Darjeeling is known for its bright and refined personality. Its delicate flavour makes it especially suitable for drinking without milk, allowing its natural aromas to remain clearly noticeable.
The resulting infusion is aromatic and balanced, with the fresh, floral and gently complex qualities commonly associated with spring-harvested Darjeeling tea.
Taste profile
- Delicate and aromatic
- Light-bodied for a black tea
- Fresh spring character
- Refined floral notes
- Gently complex finish
How to Brew Darjeeling First Flush Tea
For the best result, use fresh water and avoid steeping the leaves for too long. First Flush Darjeeling is more delicate than many darker black teas and can become overly astringent when brewed too strongly.
Recommended preparation
- Tea quantity: 2–3 g per 200–250 ml of water
- Water temperature: approximately 85–90°C
- Steeping time: 2–4 minutes
- Serving suggestion: enjoy without milk for the clearest flavour
Begin with a shorter steeping time and adjust according to your taste. Use slightly more tea rather than a much longer infusion when you prefer a fuller cup.
Beautifully Presented in a Reusable Tin
The tea is supplied as loose leaves in an attractive Mabura tin with a practical clip-top closure. The container helps make the product suitable for gifting and can be reused after the tea has been enjoyed.
Keep the container tightly closed and store it in a cool, dry and dark place, away from moisture, heat and strongly scented foods.
