Description
Pure natural salt from Rio Maior
Mabura Pure Spring Salt is a naturally crystallised salt sourced from the historic salt-producing region of Rio Maior in Portugal. The region is known for its traditional inland salt pans, where mineral-rich brine reaches the surface from underground salt deposits.
The salt is harvested using traditional methods and kept as natural as possible. It is not iodised and contains no artificial flavours, preservatives, anti-caking agents or unnecessary additives.
The result is a versatile natural salt with a clean, rounded flavour that can be used throughout the kitchen.
A versatile salt for everyday cooking
Mabura Pure Spring Salt can be used anywhere you would normally use table salt or sea salt. Its natural flavour complements ingredients without overpowering them, making it a practical addition to any spice collection.
Use it for:
- seasoning meat, poultry and fish,
- roasted or grilled vegetables,
- soups, stews and sauces,
- pasta, rice and potato dishes,
- homemade bread and savoury baking,
- salad dressings and marinades,
- eggs and breakfast dishes,
- seasoning food at the table,
- finishing freshly prepared dishes.
It can also be combined with dried herbs, pepper, chilli, garlic or other spices to create homemade seasoning blends and barbecue rubs.
Natural and free from unnecessary additives
Many conventional table salts contain anti-caking agents that help prevent the salt crystals from sticking together. Mabura Pure Spring Salt is kept naturally pure and does not contain anti-caking agents or chemical additives.
Because this is a natural product, slight differences in crystal structure or texture may occur. These variations are part of the character of traditionally harvested salt.
Traditional salt production
The salt originates from the Rio Maior salt-producing community in Portugal. Salt has been collected in this region for centuries using inland salt pans supplied by naturally salty underground spring water.
Choosing traditionally produced salt helps support the continuation of established salt-harvesting knowledge and craftsmanship.
